Bulldogs Third After First Round Of Carmel Cup

The Dawgs gear up for the weekend in the Carmel Cup's Peter Hay par 3 contest at the Pebble Beach Golf Links.

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. --- The 12th-ranked Georgia men's golf team stands third after one round of The Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
On Friday, the Bulldogs opened the fall portion of their schedule at 1-over-par 361 -- including 2-under-par 70s from senior Sepp Straka and junior Jaime Lopez Rivarola. Georgia trails Arkansas and Vanderbilt (3-under 357) by four shots with two rounds remaining.
Sophomore Zach Healy and redshirt freshman Jack Larkin Jr. each signed for a 1-over 73 and junior Greyson Sigg carded a 3-over 75. Freshman David Mackey had the Bulldogs' non-counting score of 6-over 78.
Straka and Lopez Rivarola are tied for second, one shot in back of Arkansas' Alvaro Ortiz (3-under 69).
The Carmel Cup will continue on Saturday and will conclude on Sunday. Results and tee times can be found at GolfStat.com. Georgia will be paired with Vanderbilt, Oklahoma State and Arkansas beginning at 11:10 a.m.
