BEDMINSTER, N.J. --- Paced by a quintet of top-10 individual finishes, the Georgia women's golf team captured the team title at Seton Hall's Pirate Invitational on Friday. The Bulldogs completed play at the 36-hole event at 599, eight shots better than runner-up Princeton.

Individually, Manuela Carbajo Ré led Georgia by finishing third at 146, while Harang Lee placed fourth at 148, Rocio Sanchez Lobato tied for eighth at 152 and both Amira Alexander and Sylvie Brick tied for 10th at 153.

"Each player throughout our lineup is contributing, not only this week but over the past month," head coach Josh Brewer said. "It has been a total team effort.  It's an awesome feeling to win but even better because we're getting such good play throughout the lineup. Everyone continues to get better every day. They should being able to smile and enjoy this win."

On Friday, the Bulldogs' 302 team tally came from a pair of 74s from Brick and Carbajo Ré, a 75 from Lee and a 79 from Sanchez Lobato. Georgia's non counters were a 75 by Alexander, who was competing as an individual, and an 81 from Sammi Lee.

Brick's effort was a collegiate low loop by seven strokes. She teed off from No. 3 with the round's shotgun start. Brick bogeyed No. 4 and No. 5 but gained one of those strokes back with a birdie at No. 8. A double-bogey at No. 15 pushed Brick to 3-over on the day but she birdied No. 18 before finishing her round with a pair of pars.

"I'm so happy for Sylvie Brick," Brewer said. "She shot her career low round at Georgia on a day when we really needed it."

Just five days ago, the Bulldogs finished as runner-up at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, a tournament that featured six top-10 teams.

"You wonder how we're going to not only handle the momentum from the Liz Murphey but also the heartbreak of losing when we were so close," Brewer said "We played well again today, though, and that makes five straight days when we've played our best golf of the year."

The victory was the Bulldogs' 83rd all-time team title and the second under Brewer. Georgia won the FSU Match-Up Tournament during the 2012-13 season, Brewer's first in Athens.

Georgia will now prepare for the SEC Championships in two weeks at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Ala. The Bulldogs own a combined 19 SEC titles -- 11 team and eight individual -- the most of any league school.

"I'm excited that SECs aren't that far away you want to be playing your best golf of the year entering the postseason and that's exactly where we are," Brewer said.
