Delafchell Named UGAA Employee of the Year

ATHENS, Ga. --- Mark Delafchell, Director of Building Services, was named this week as the University of Georgia Athletic Association's Employee of the Year. The annual award is voted on by all members of the UGAA staff.

Delafchell supervises custodial and maintenance responsibilities for all athletically owned buildings. He also manages the fire and security systems at all UGA athletic venues. Delafchell has demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, elevators, building automation, and managing personnel.

A native of Hinesville, Georgia, Delafchell has served in his current position for the past year. He previously held the position of building services supervisor with the Athletic Association for seven years. He began his employment at UGA with an introductory level job at Stanford Stadium. Delafchell also served as a student worker at UGA in the 90's.
