ATHENS-----University of Georgia pitcher Robert Tyler underwent an MRI on his right elbow Saturday in Athens and no structural damage was noted.
The ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) is intact. Tyler's injury is muscular in nature, and he will be progressed back to pitching as tolerated.
Tyler, a sophomore native of Cordele, Ga., is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in three starts this season. He has 22 strikeouts and six walks in 14 innings pitched. On Friday, he made a start against Georgia Southern in Statesboro and left the game due to an injury with two outs in the fourth inning.
The 18th-ranked Bulldogs (6-2) and Eagles (6-4) are in the middle of a three-game series.
