FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --- The Lady Bulldogs finished out their three-game road swing on Sunday afternoon, as the Georgia volleyball team (5-21, 0-14) dropped a 3-0 match at Arkansas (17-9, 7-7).
The Razorbacks pulled out the win by scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-14.
The Bulldogs were led offensively by redshirt junior Desiree McCray's six kills while redshirt senior Jasmine Eatmon followed with five. Sophomore Cassidy Anderson put up a team-best seven digs, as the Bulldogs finished with 22 digs on the day.
Georgia had a tough time stopping Arkansas' Pilar Victoria and Danielle Harbin, as the two collected 16 and 13 kills, respectively. The Razorback defense also tabbed 11 blocks at the net.
An Eatmon kill in the first set knotted things early at 7 each, but Arkansas ran a 6-2 spree to a 13-9 advantage and a Georgia timeout. The deficit would be too much to overcome, as Arkansas put together a 25-17 win.
The Razorback offense was efficient in the final two sets, hitting .462 in the second and .464 in the third. Georgia was within five late before the intermission at 20-15 with a sophomore Maddie Lobenstein kill, but three-straight attack errors and an Arkansas block pushed the home team to a 25-16 win. Big-scoring rallies helped Arkansas in the final set, as a 6-0 run sealed the momentum to the Razorbacks and the match with a 25-14 win.
Georgia plays its final two home games of the season in the upcoming weekend, as Alabama comes to the Ramsey Center on Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. ET and Mississippi State on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. ET. Sunday's match will also be Senior Night for the team's lone senior Eatmon.
