Bulldogs Still Leading The Carmel Cup

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. --- The No. 5-ranked Georgia men's golf team maintained its lead after the second round of The Carmel Cup on Saturday.

The Bulldogs shot a 2-under 358 in the second round to move to 10-under 710 for the event. Georgia holds a 1-stroke lead over Texas Christian and Texas Tech entering Sunday's final round.

Senior Mookie DeMoss, sophomore Greyson Sigg and freshman Zach Healy each shot a 1-under 71 on Saturday to pace the Bulldogs. Junior Sepp Straka added an even-par 72 and junior Lee McCoy signed for a 1-over 73. Senior Nicholas Reach had the Bulldogs' non-counting score of 3-over 75.

McCoy is fourth individually at 4-under 140, three shots in back of Vanderbilt's Hunter Stewart. DeMoss is ninth at 2-under 142, followed by Reach in 18th at 1-under 143, Sigg in 21st at even-par 144, and Healy and Straka in 25th at 1-over 145.

The Bulldogs' final round will get underway on Sunday at 11:10 a.m. Nine-hole scoring can be found at GolfStat.com.
