Georgia Golfers In Ninth In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS --- The No. 5-ranked Georgia men's golf team stands ninth after one round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters.
On Friday, the Bulldogs fired a 22-over-par 310 on the par-72, 7,374-yard layout at Southern Highlands. Tournament host UNLV opened with the team lead at 1-over 289.
Senior Joey Garber paced the Bulldogs with a 3-over 75. He is five shots off the pace set by Oklahoma State's Wyndham Clark and UNLV's Carl Jonson at 2-under 70.
Senior Michael Cromie signed for a 4-over 76, followed by sophomore Lee McCoy at 7-over 79 and freshman Greyson Sigg at 8-over 80. Senior Keith Mitchell had the Bulldogs' non-counting score of 10-over 82.
The Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters will continue on Saturday. Georgia's players will tee off beginning at 11 a.m. Live results can be found at Golfstat.com.
