Georgia Golfers Stand Ninth In Tavistock Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. --- The Georgia men's golf team stands ninth after one round of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational.

On Sunday at the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club, the Bulldogs fired a 1-under 287. Georgia is tied with Central Florida and Florida, and Texas Tech has the team lead at 21-under 267.

Junior Sepp Straka and freshman Zach Healy each carded a 3-under 69 to pace the Bulldogs in the opening round. They are tied for 16th and are six strokes in back of Texas Tech's Guillermo Pereira.

Sophomore Greyson Sigg signed for a 1-over 73, followed by senior Mookie DeMoss at 4-over 76. Senior Sam Straka had the Bulldogs' non-counting score of 5-over 77.

The second round of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational will take place on Monday. The Bulldogs will tee off between 8:25 and 9:05 a.m. with their counterparts from Florida and GRU Augusta. Live results can be found at GolfStat.com.
