STANFORD, California --- Led by Amira Alexander's 2-under 69, the Georgia women's golf team fired a 3-over 284 in the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate on Saturday. The Bulldogs and Alexander are 12th on the team and individual leaderboards, respectively entering the final round.

"It was a very solid round for several reasons," head coach Josh Brewer said. "It was great to see Amira put up a very good 2-under number. She has played very consistent for us through 36 holes here and really throughout the fall. Manuela shot even-par, which is a good sign. I was very proud of Sammi for finishing with three straight birdies. That was a big boost for us. Now, we're in position to finish out the fall season on a very positive note with a solid result against some highly ranked teams. If we can go out and play tomorrow like we did today, we'll be in good shape."

Manuela Carbajo Ré shot even-par 71, Harang Lee posted a 2-over 74 and Sammi Lee carded a 3-over 74 to round out the Bulldogs' counting rounds. Mary Ellen Shuman finished her loop at 80.

Overall, Alexander is tied for 12th at 1-under 141, Carbajo Ré is tied for 27th at 143, Harang Lee is tied for 46th at 146, Sammi Lee is tied for 64th at 152 and Shuman is 88th at 162.

The Bulldogs teed off from No. 10 and played the back side of the Stanford Golf Course first on Saturday. Alexander registered her only bogey of the day at No. 13 but bounced back with birdies at No. 14, No. 17 and No. 18 to turn at 2-under. From there, she completed her loop with nine straight pars.

Carbajo Ré's turned at 1-under following a back-and-forth first nine which featured a birdie at No. 10, a bogey at No. 11, birdies at No. 12 and No. 15 and a bogey at No. 17. She bogeyed No. 6 on the front half to finish her day at even.

Sammi Lee was even at the turn but then went bogey, bogey, double-double, double-bogey to fall to 6-over through 15 holes. She fought back to birdie No. 7, No. 8 and No. 9.

UCLA remains atop the team field. The Bruins shot 3-under 281 on Saturday and are at 8-under through 36 holes, two shots better than Stanford. UCLA's Bronte Law and Louise Ridderstorm at 1-2 on the individual leaderboard. Law is 6-under, a stroke ahead of her teammate.
