The Georgia Bulldog Club Recognizes 'Triple Donors'

ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia Bulldog Club and the UGA Athletic Association welcomed roughly 40 of its members who contribute to each of the three athletic annual funds for dinner and the opportunity to assist the UGA facilities staff by painting the midfield "G" logo Friday, Sept. 6, the evening before Georgia claimed a victory over visiting South Carolina.
Over the summer, a decision was made to host an inaugural event recognizing donors who financially support the William C. Hartman Fund (football priority program), the Basketball Enhancement Fund (men's basketball priority) and the Gymnastics Endowment Fund (gymnastics priority). While The Georgia Bulldog Club proudly boasts nearly 15,000 members, only a group of less than 50 contribute to all three.
"We realize how fortunate we are to have so many great donors and this is a special group," said McGarity. "While it is a small number of donors who contribute to all three funds right now, we all expect it to grow."
McGarity and University President Jere Morehead addressed the crowd, while The Georgia Bulldog Club staff, gymnastics head coach Dana Durante, and men's basketball head coach Mark Fox mingled with donors to show their appreciation. Mark Slonaker, Executive Director of The Georgia Bulldog Club, also spoke to the group to express the sincere thanks UGA Athletics has to its donors.
"By providing our 'Triple Donors' with the unique opportunity to 'Paint the G' and the recognition that came with their support for all three annual funds, hopefully other members of The Georgia Bulldog Club will be inspired to further support our student-athletes by also becoming Triple Donors," Slonaker said.
The Georgia Bulldog Club plans to recognize its "Triple Donors" each academic year with a unique experience hoping programs such as these will bring awareness to all three athletic annual funds.
