Georgia Equestrian Remains No. 1 in the Nation

WACO, Texas - The Georgia equestrian team remains at the top of the latest National Collegiate Equestrian Association Poll released today by the NCEA Selection Committee.

The Bulldogs are coming off a 16-3 win over Fresno State last weekend that put them at 1-0 on the year. Highlighting the competition were MOP honors by Megan Southam in Equitation Over Fences, Rachel Kolb in Horsemanship, Leylan Gleeson in Equitation on the Flat, and McKenzie Lantz in Reining.

Georgia swept Fresno State 5-0 in Equitation Over Fences before earning a 4-1 victory in Horsemanship and Equitation on the Flat and a 3-1 win in Reining.

Each of the four Southeastern Conference teams are represented in the poll, with Auburn ranked second and South Carolina ranked third. Texas A&M, which has yet to compete this year, is ranked sixth.

The Bulldogs get back in action on Friday, Oct. 11, when it travels to Blythewood, S.C., to take on Southeastern Conference foe South Carolina in Blythewood, S.C.
