KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. --- The No. 8 Georgia men's golf team stands fourth after one round of The Invitational at the Ocean Course.

On Sunday at Kiawah Island Golf and Country Club, the Bulldogs finished at 9-over-par 297. Kentucky has the team lead at even-par 288.

Sophomore Lee McCoy paced the Bulldogs on Sunday with an even-par 72 and he is eighth in the individual race --- five shots behind Western Carolina's J.T. Poston (67). Junior Nicholas Reach is 13th at 1-over 73, while senior Michael Cromie stands 20th at 2-over 74 and senior Keith Mitchell fired a 6-over 78. Junior Sam Straka had the Bulldogs' non-counting score of 15-over 87.

Playing as an individual, senior Joey Garber fired a 1-over 73 and stands 13th.

"I thought we played OK today," Georgia coach Chris Haack said. "We've left ourselves with some work to do the next two rounds, but there's a long way to go. Now that we've seen the course a couple of times, we can make the necessary adjustments."

The Invitational at the Ocean Course will continue on Monday and will conclude on Tuesday. Results and tee times can be found at golfstat.com.
