Tieche to Ride at NRHA Derby

ATHENS, Ga. - Georgia rider Lauren Tieche will join McKenzie Lantz as a representative of the Bulldog equestrian program at the prestigious National Collegiate Reining Derby at the National Reining Horse Association Derby Finals in Oklahoma City.
Tieche was selected for the honor based upon several criteria: season-long stats, performance at the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championships and comments from judges at the NCEA meet. Tieche finished the regular season with a 6-3 record. Her best showing of the year came against South Carolina, where she earned a score of 72.
"I am thrilled for Lauren to be chosen to represent The University of Georgia and NRHA at the 2012 NRHA Derby," assistant coach Mary Meneely said. "Lauren has added a tremendous amount of strength on our reining team and I am very excited for her to be competing as a rising sophomore at the Derby this year. Lauren ranks as one of the top NRHA all-time youth point winners in the world for NRHA and I look forward to her continued success both in and out of the arena."
