No. 7 Georgia Softball To Face Furman, Mississippi State

ATHENS, Ga. - The No. 7 University of Georgia softball returns to action this week as it welcomes Furman to Jack Turner Stadium on Wednesday, before opening Southeastern Conference play on Friday at Mississippi State. The Bulldogs are 18-2 on the season and are coming off a 5-0 performance at the Bulldog Invitational last weekend. Furman enters the week with a 7-9 record, while Mississippi State is 14-5

Quick Notes
- Georgia has outscored its opponents 138-34 this season. At the Bulldog Invitational, Georgia put up 30 runs compared to its opponents eight. Georgia has played in five games shorted due to the mercy rule, including one against then-No. 5 UCLA.
- Each of Georgia's newcomers has seen playing time this season. Paige Wilson leads the way with a .407 average including three home runs and a team-best 23 RBI. Junior Tess Sito is batting .375 with 23 runs, 21 RBI and five home runs. Gracie Goulder and Anna Swafford have started in all 20 games this season and each has hit one home run. Niaja Griffin is hitting .283 and leads the team with 13 stolen bases.
- Paige Wilson continues her offensive production for Georgia. The Chicago, Ill., native is currently on an eight-game hitting streak dating back to the UCLA game on Feb. 24. Wilson grabbed a season high total against Rutgers in hits with three while tying her season-high RBI with four. She also led the team with a batting average of .571 in the last five games.
- Morgan Montemayor tallied a career-high 12 strikeouts against Minnesota at the Bulldog Invitational. Montemayor's previous high was 10 Ks, met this season versus Tennessee Tech. Erin Arevalo racked up double-digit strikeouts for the third time this season against Ohio. The senior has only recorded double-digit strikeouts just twice in her previous three seasons with the Bulldogs.
