ATHENS, Ga. --- The 15th-ranked Georgia men's golf team will step away from its usual multi-teams tournament schedule on Sunday when the Bulldogs take on Army and Princeton in a tri-match.

The tri-match will take place at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa., on Sunday at 1 p.m. Aronimink Golf Club has played host to a PGA Championship and a U.S. Amateur Championship.

Georgia will field a lineup of five players, with each going head-to-head with golfers from both Army and Princeton in a match-play format. Each player will have the possibility of winning two points for his team among the total of the 15 matches.

The NCAA Championship started including a match-play format to decide the team champion in 2009. Last season, the Bulldogs advanced to the final match, falling 3-2 to Augusta State.

"I think events like this are beneficial to teams," Georgia coach Chris Haack said. "We're all familiar with the tournaments that have 10 to 15 teams. But match play requires a different mindset, plus it's a nice change of pace for the golfers. I think we'll get a lot out of this event."

Haack will use a lineup of junior T.J. Mitchell, sophomore Brian Carter, and freshmen Nicholas Reach, Sam Straka and Sepp Straka. Mitchell, Reach and Sepp Straka played in Georgia's first two tournaments this year. Sam Straka, Sepp's twin brother, will be making his collegiate debut.
