ATHENS ---- Logan Fiorentino, assistant coach the past three years and one of Georgia's best-ever Equestrian student-athletes, has been named Head Hunt Seat Coach at TCU, according to a recent announcement by the school.

In her new role, Fiorentino will share the Horned Frogs' head coaching duties with current coach Gary Reynolds, who will guide the team's Western riders.

The Lloyd Harbor, N.Y., native returned to her alma mater in July of 2008 as an assistant coach for the Bulldogs. In her three seasons, Georgia twice captured the overall Varsity National Championship (2009-10), won the Hunt Seat national title in 2010, and brought home the 2011 Hunt Seat Reserve Championship. In addition, two riders under her tutelage, Haylie Jayne in 2009 and Emma Lipman in 2010, also took home the national individual Over Fences championships.

The 2010 season proved to be especially fulfilling for Fiorentino, and perhaps a good preparation for the future. With head coach Meghan Boenig on maternity leave for much of the fall, Fiorentino assumed head-coaching duties and kept the team on its course toward another championship campaign.

"This will be a tremendous opportunity for Logan and it's one in which that I am sure she will thrive," Boenig said. "TCU is a program with incredible potential. Logan will give that program quite the spark in their building process."

Fiorentino earned a bachelor's degree in Sport Studies and a Master's degree in Sports Management during her three years at UGA (2005-07). In 2006, she earned the Scholar-Athlete Award for the highest GPA among all Equestrian student-athletes. She transferred to UGA after two years at Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y.

"I'm very excited to be joining the TCU program," Fiorentino said. "This is a program with unlimited potential and I look forward to working with the student-athletes, staff and supporters of TCU Equestrian."
