Game One: Georgia 8, Longwood 0 (5)

In game one against Longwood, Georgia utilized a seven-run fifth inning en route to winning 8-0 in five innings.

From the circle, freshman Morgan Montemayor held the Lancers scoreless on five hits and three walks while striking out seven to improve to 21-3 on the year.

Georgia scored its first run in the third inning on a two-out, solo home run to right from senior Megan Wiggins. It was the eighth home run of the year for Wiggins.

The scored remained 1-0 until the seven run fifth. Senior Laura Trout led off the inning with a single to center and moved up to second when junior Ashley Pauly reached on an error after putting down a sacrifice bunt. Two batters later, senior Taylor Schlopy singled to left on a 3-0 pitch to load the bases for senior Alisa Goler. Goler then delivered a three-run double to center, and the three RBI raised her career total to 234 establishing a new UGA career record passing the previous record of 233 set by Kim Wendland (2002-05).

The fifth inning then continued with senior Brianna Hesson reaching on a fielding error that allowed sophomore pinch runner Maya Branch to come around to score. Next, juniors Kristyn Sandberg and Brittney Hubbard provided consecutive RBI doubles to left center, and the final run of the game scored when Trout singled to left and a third Lancer error in the frame allowed Hubbard to cross the plate.

Longwood starter Briana Wells took the loss after pitching 4.2 innings to fall to 33-13.

Game Two: Longwood 7, Georgia 5

In game two, Georgia led 5-0 but Longwood scored seven unanswered runs highlighted by a five-run seventh to rally and win 7-5.

Georgia plated its first two runs in the first inning. In a similar fashion to game one, the Bulldogs first run came on a solo home run from Wiggins, this time the homer, her ninth of the year, was to center to lead off the inning. Two batters later, Goler reached on a fielding error and moved around to third on a single to center from Hesson. Junior Ashley Razey then hit a sacrifice fly to left scoring Branch, who entered to pinch run at third.

The Bulldogs extended the lead to 5-0 in the fifth on a two-out, three-run home run to left from Hesson. It was the 15th home run of the season for Hesson and it followed two-out singles from Schlopy and Goler.

In the sixth, Longwood scored two runs to cut the score to 5-2. Sophomore Alison Owen entered the circle to start the inning and gave up a single to Maggie Margadonna and a double to Brooke Short leading to a Georgia pitching change to bring in Arevalo. Arevalo limited the damage to just two runs on RBI singles from Tricia Nelson and Wells before getting out of the inning.

In the seventh, the Lancers scored five runs to go ahead 7-5. Margadonna reached on a fielder's choice and scored on a one-out double to right center from Short. Ashley Kramer then reached on a UGA fielding error that also allowed Short to move up to third. Two batters later, Wells added a two-out, RBI single to right scoring Short. Courtney Long capped the inning with a three-run home run to left to put the Lancers up 7-5.
