ATHENS, Ga. --- After a hard-fought loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday, the Georgia men's tennis team looks ahead to the ITA National Indoors in Seattle to regain momentum. As the Bulldogs prepare for their cross-country venture this week, Georgiadogs.com sat down with freshman Eric Diaz - the middle son of 23-year head coach Manuel Diaz - to get to know a little more about the Athens native.
Georgiadogs.com: Why did you choose to come to the University of Georgia?
Eric Diaz: I grew up around it. I've always been a Bulldog so it was really the only place that I wanted to go.
GD: Who has had the greatest influence on your athletic career?
ED: My dad.
GD: If you could play any other sport what would it be?
ED: Football, but I am tiny so it wouldn't exactly work.
GD: Do you have any pre-match superstitions or rituals?
ED: Listening to music.
GD: What has been your favorite class at UGA thus far?
ED: Geology.
GD: What are two words that describe you off the court?
ED: Laid-back and fun.
GD: What are two words that describe you on the court?
ED: Intense and competitive.
GD: Favorite TV show?
ED: 24.
GD: Favorite movie?
ED: Inception.
GD: Favorite type of music?
ED: Nothing specific.
GD: Favorite professional sports team?
ED: Atlanta Falcons.
GD: Favorite professional athlete?
ED: Roger Federer.
