Bulldogs Beat Kentucky in Second Round, Advance to Quarterfinals Against LSU

COLLEGE STATION, Texas --- The six-seed Georgia men's tennis team defeated No. 11- seed Kentucky in the second round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday afternoon at the George P. Mitchell '40 Tennis Center at Texas A&M. The Bulldogs advance to the quarterfinals and will face No. 3-seed LSU on Friday, April 17.

FAST FACTS:

The Bulldogs went ahead early after winning the doubles point. Will Jansen and Gabriele Vulpitta won 6-2 on court two before Arda Azkara and Santiago Giamichelle clinched the point on court one 6-4.
After the Wildcats evened the score with a singles match win on court three, Vulpitta put the Bulldogs back on top, winning on court six: 6-4, 6-4
Noah Johnston added a point with a win on court five over No. 82 Jack Loutit.
The Wildcats tightened the gap, winning the point from court four with No. 114 Charlelie Cosnet beating Derrick Chen, before No. 42 Will Jansen beat No. 54 Nicolas Arseneault on court two to clinch the match for the Bulldogs.

Georgia will face No. 3-seed LSU in the quarterfinal round on Friday, April 17 at 3 p.m. ET.
