Bulldogs Continue Preparations For Kentucky

ATHENS-----The Georgia football team continued preparations for its final home game of the season with a two and a half hour practice in full pads Tuesday at the Woodruff Practice Fields.
The Bulldogs (8-2, 6-1 SEC) have already clinched a share of the SEC Eastern Division title and can win it outright with a win against Kentucky (4-6, 1-5 SEC) on Saturday.
"We're excited about the possibility of winning the SEC Eastern Division championship," said Georgia head coach Mark Richt. "That's the goal: win the game and if we win that game we're in. We know what's at stake. I think our guys are going to continue to stay focused throughout the week. I can't imagine them going backwards now. We're in a good place right now. I just hope we continue to prepare well and play well."
Richt also discussed Georgia's seniors during the Bulldogs' weekly press luncheon earlier in the afternoon. A total of 28 players, managers and student assistants will be honored prior to kickoff.
"Right now they are very optimistic about how their senior season can finish," Richt said. "We all know it wasn't a tremendous start, but through their leadership and their play and perseverance, we've found a way to battle back in this thing and turn this thing into a season that might be one that everybody will remember real fondly. I'm proud of them. They've been through a lot. They've been through some rough moments, but they're here and they're in a good place right now."
Kickoff Saturday is slated for 12:21 p.m., and the game will be televised by the SEC Network. Georgia is 50-12-2 all-time against Kentucky, including a 24-4-2 mark in Athens.
