ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia's Khaalidah Miller was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week by the league office in Birmingham on Monday, a day after she scored a team-high 15 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs in a 61-51 win over South Carolina.

For the week, Miller, a 5-9 guard from Douglass High in Atlanta, averaged 13.0 points while connecting on 44.8 percent of her field goals, 50.0 percent of her three-pointers and 71.4 percent of her free throws.

Miller was the only Georgia player to reach double figures in each of the Lady Bulldogs' three games last week. After notching two double-digit performances in Georgia's first 11 games, Miller had three such outings in a row after the holiday break.

At the FIU Fun & Sun Classic in Miami, Miller scored 10 points in just 12 minutes of action against Louisiana Tech and 14 points in a career-high 36 minutes of playing time against FIU. Miller was 4-of-4 from the line against FIU in the final 43 seconds, including a one-and-one and a two-shot foul after the Panthers pulled within three with five seconds remaining.

Miller led the Lady Bulldogs in the scoring column for the first time in her career with 15 points against South Carolina in the SEC opener. She scored 12 first-half points by connecting on 4-of-4 three-point attempts. Miller hit another three after the Gamecocks trimmed a 23-point half time lead to seven with 5:56 remaining.

For the season, Miller has stared two of 14 games and is averaging 8.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.

The Lady Bulldogs will enjoy an open date this Thursday before facing No. 11 Kentucky in Lexington on Sunday at 2 p.m. in an ESPNU nationally televised contest.
