Langton Promoted To Associate Athletic Trainer

ATHENS --- Mandy Langton, a member of the University of Georgia's Sports Medicine staff for nine years, has been promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer. Ron Courson, the Director of Sports Medicine for the UGA Athletic Assocation, announced the promotion on Thursday.
Langton, who joined the Georgia staff on a full-time basis in June 2002 after serving as a graduate assistant for two years, will continue her current duties which include serving as the athletic trainer for women's soccer. She also will assume additional responsibilities with Olympic sport student-athletes and management of the Stegeman Coliseum athletic training facility.
"Mandy has done an outstanding job," Courson said. "She takes excellent care of our student-athletes and always has their best interests at heart. She sets a great example and is a very hard worker."
Langton is a certified & licensed member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and Georgia Board of Athletic Trainers, as well as a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate. Additionally, she is a member of the eating disorder management team that services all UGA athletes and a CPR instructor. She has also been an adjunct professor in the department of Kinesiology and serves as an approved clinical instructor for the athletic training student program.
Langton received her bachelor's degree in athletic training with a minor in sports psychology from West Virginia University in 2000. She then served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the UGA volleyball program while securing her master's in sports management in May 2002.
Mandy, the former Mandy Markley, is a native of Williamstown, W. Va.. She and her husband, Ryan, have a daughter, Hayden Kathryn, who was born on November 14, 2008.
