QUOTES
Florida Head Coach Roland Thornqvist
“I think today we were physically better and mentally better than we were yesterday. I’m really proud of the way we played. USC is a great team and we were ready for them.”
"Playing back-to-back games has really helped us out, and courts are very similar indoors to outdoors so that isn’t going to effect us much."
"If we happen to have the good fortune of being back here in a month [for the NCAA Championships] we will be better prepared if we have to move inside because of rain."
Freshman Allie Will
"It felt really good and my team was behind me the entire time. Indoors isn’t my favorite, so I had to mentally prepare myself. I knew I was going to have to come out and play tough."

The match was played indoors due to inclement weather and began with singles, which the squads split at three apiece. Tennessee then captured the critical doubles point to secure the 4-3 victory and advance to tomorrow’s finals.

The Rebels then tied it at two all with 62nd-ranked Boxx’s 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 upset over ninth-ranked Whoriskey on court one. Next off was court five, where Tennessee’s Jennifer Meredith defeated van de Stroet, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(4) to push the Lady Vols to 3-2, but the Rebels answered again with a 6-0, 6-1 win on six as Rangel defeated Katie Lee to even the score at three and set up doubles.
Tennessee advances to tomorrow’s finals match against top-seeded Florida at 12 p.m. The match will likely be played outdoors as originally scheduled, weather permitting. The Gators headed the championship with this morning’s 4-0 win over South Carolina.
