Georgia Golfers Slip To 12th In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS --- The Georgia men’s golf team slipped to 12th place on Saturday at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters.

Battling winds that reached 25 miles per hour at Southern Highlands Golf Club, the Bulldogs shot a 34-over-par 322 in the second round to move to 44-over 620 for the tournament. Host UNLV has the team lead at 17-over 593.

Bryden Macpherson paced the Bulldogs on Saturday with a 5-over 77. Rob Bennett and Harris English each carded an 8-over 80, while Russell Henley signed for a 13-over 85 and T.J. Mitchell had a 15-over 87.

English is tied for 25th in the individual race with a 9-over 153. Jesper Kennegard of Arizona State and T.J. Vogel of Southern Cal have the lead at 1-under 143. Bennett is behind English at 10-over 154, followed by Henley and Macpherson each at 17-over 161 and Mitchell at 18-over 162.

The Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters will conclude on Sunday. Live stats can be found at golfstat.com.
