UGA Softball's Season Opener Cancelled Due To Inclement Weather

CLERMONT, Fla. - The seventh-ranked Georgia softball team's season opening contest against sixth-ranked UCLA scheduled for Friday evening has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

Heavy rains across central Florida forced the cancellation of play for Friday in Dot Richardson's National Collegiate Softball Invitational at the National Training Center. Tournament action on Saturday and Sunday is slated to continue as previously scheduled.

The Bulldogs will now play their season opening contest against third-ranked Michigan at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday followed by a second game against Central Florida at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Georgia plays Chattanooga at 11 a.m. and Florida Atlantic at 1 p.m. Live stats for all of Georgia's games can be found via www.georgiadogs.com.
