Vote for UGA in 2010 Athlon Sideline Spirit Contest

ATHENS, Ga. --- Voting is now underway for the semi-final round of the 2010 Athlon Sports Sideline Spirit Contest. UGA cheerleader Erica Smith, a senior from Covington, Ga., is representing UGA in the contest for the university with the most school spirit.
Smith, a four-year member and 2010-2011 captain of the UGA cheerleading squad, advanced to the semi-final round with a 54% total of votes over the competitor representing the University of Florida. In the semi-final round, Smith is competing against five other semi-finalists in Team Offense for Pool A. The other members of Pool A are representatives from Ole Miss, West Virginia University, Central Michigan University, UL-Lafayette and the University of Minnesota.
If Smith wins her Pool, she will compete in the final round against the winner of Team Defense for Pool B. Voting for the final round will take place Dec. 13 through Dec. 17. The winner of the final round will be named the 2010 Sideline Spirit Contest Champion and receive $2,000 for their squad in addition to a Panasonic TV, camera, video camera.
The voting for the semi-final round will be open until 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 6. For more information and instructions on how to vote, visit www.spirit.athlonsports.com//rules.php.
