Former Bulldogs Head To Berlin

BERLIN --- Two-time defending NCAA javelin champion Chris Hill leads a group of eight former Georgia standouts at the IAAF World Track & Field Championships in Berlin, Germany, starting Saturday.
The meet brings together the world’s top track and field competitors and runs from Saturday until August 23.
Hill, who clinched his spot in Berlin by winning the 2009 USA Championships in June, will join Reese Hoffa-USA (shot put) and Andras Haklits-CROATIA (hammer throw) on the men’s side.
For the women, Debbie Ferguson-BAHAMAS (100-meter dash, 200), Patty Sylvester-GRENADA (long jump, triple jump), Jennifer Dahlgren-ARGENTINA (hammer throw), Sultana Frizell-CANADA (hammer throw) and Levern Spencer-ST. LUCIA (high jump) will all be representing their native nations during the nine-day meet.
Hoffa, who was the 2007 World Outdoor champion and seventh in the finals at the 2008 Olympics, will start the action in the qualification round of the shot put and will then compete in the event’s finals during the afternoon. Sylvester and Haklits will also be competing Saturday.
