Former Bulldogs Give Their Take On SEC Media Days

July 24, 2009 | Football

We caught up with a few former Bulldogs at the Wynfrey Hotel to see what they had to say about SEC Media Days and what they think about Georgia's football team this year.

Buck Belue

On the experience of SEC Media Days
"It's a little like going to Vegas, I think, because you don't know what you're gonna get. You roll the dice, you know, and you're hoping to get Saban, Richt and Meyer and Tebow and all the players. There's a lot of sitting around and waiting, and you just hope everything falls into place. It's a crazy atmosphere."

Evaluating this year's football team
"I think they're really comfortable and confident with the group they have. They like being under-the-radar a little bit. It's a lot different than a year ago. They like the team they have."

David Pollack
On the experience of SEC Media Days
"It's hectic. You've got your different levels of hectic, and your different levels of stardom. Today's kind of the A-team meeting with Coach Richt, Coach Saban and Coach Meyer. And you can see the following of Alabama fans here. It's cool, though. You just rotate the players in and out and try to get some kind of inside scoop."

Evaluating this year's football team
"Very optimistic. I expect Coach Richt to do what he always does and that's win at least 10 games and compete for an SEC Championship. I never doubt him and always appreciate what he does."

Matt Stinchcomb
On what's keeping him busy these days
"We're here talking about the Allstate/AFCA Good Works Team. We just released the nominees yesterday, so that's an exciting time. We'll have that team named later on in the season. We're also discussing some of the things that ESPN is going to be doing in conjunction with the SEC this year, so it's a pretty exciting couple of days."

Evaluating this year's football team
"Everybody's got a chance, that's the beauty of where we are right now. Everybody's undefeated, everybody's got a shot at the national championship. It's going to be a challenge. The schedule does not lay out, it's not very pretty, but that being said, if you can get to Atlanta at the end of the year, then you're going to be part of the national championship conversation. That's always going to be the challenge, that's always going to be the push for any team in this conference is getting to Atlanta and getting out of there with a championship ring."
