Georgia Golfers Come In Fourth At USCC

ALPHARETTA The No. 1-ranked Georgia men’s golf team came in fourth on Tuesday at the United States Collegiate Championship.

Playing at the Country Club of the South on Tuesday, the Bulldogs shot an 8-over-par 296 to wind up at 19-over 883 for the tournament. Clemson took the team title at 12-over 876.

Senior Brian Harman led the Bulldogs in the final round with a 1-under 71. Senior Adam Mitchell, junior Hudson Swafford and sophomore Harris English each signed for a 3-over 75. Sophomore Russell Henley had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 4-over 76.

Harman finished sixth individually at 1-over 217, five shots behind Alabama’s Bud Cauley and UCLA’s Erik Flores. Mitchell tied for 11th at 4-over 220, followed by Swafford in a tie for 19th at 6-over 222, English in a tie for 28th at 8-over 224 and Henley in a tie for 55th at 14-over 230.

The Bulldogs will return to action April 17-19 at the Southeastern Conference Championship in Sea Island.
