The Georgia Bulldog Club Hosts Annual Scholarship Endowment Luncheon

On Saturday, January 24th, administration, coaches and student-athletes of the University of Georgia Athletic Association gathered to honor over 150 scholarship endowments and their donors at the annual scholarship endowment luncheon.
Donors in attendance at the luncheon have made a gift of $150,000 to create a named endowed scholarship. These gifts provide deserving student-athletes the opportunity to pursue academic and athletic excellence at the University of Georgia. Their financial assistance ensures that Georgia Athletics will continue to maintain a national excellence in intercollegiate athletics.
Athletic Director Damon Evans was on hand to express gratitude to all scholarship endowment donors and to announce the new scholarship endowments for 2009. Also included in the program was a question and answer student-athlete panel featuring, Rennie Curran, All-SEC linebacker, Adam Mitchell, senior golf captain and Maria Taylor, senior Volleyball captain.
Special recognition was given to Jim and Sanders Hickey, recipients of the SunTrust Top Dawg Award. Natives of Atlanta, the brothers are long time Georgia supporters and were two of the original donors to the Athletic Scholarship Endowment Program. Together, they have a total of four endowed scholarships.
