Georgia Head Coach Andy Landers
“We guarded people the last 10 minutes the way we guarded them the first 30. We had no sense of urgency. At some point you have to make plays, that is what Arkansas did late in the game. It’s not about X’s and O’s, it is about heart. You’ve got to be excited about being in a situation, what ever that situation may be.”
“We didn’t deflect enough balls on pass receptions. The shot clock never went off. We didn’t make them dribble off their foot or force them to do anything they did not want to do. I constantly reevaluate the things that I can change. We got a lot of good shots tonight. We hit some of them, and we missed some of them. That is not the issue. The issue is that we never stopped them.”
Arkansas Head Coach Tom Collen
“This was a hard-fought win...certainly the hardest fought win we’ve had all year. I’m very proud of our girls. We played hard physically, mentally and in front of a big crowd. It is an unbelievable feeling. I think it shows the girls they can play anybody in the league if they put their mind to it.”
“In the second half we really played hard on Houts. I think we wore her down, and that was big. She had a great first half, but we put so much pressure on her in the second half that it wore her out. Robinson fouling out was big, too. We did a great job on defense, and when Robinson is on the bench it changes the game dramatically.”
“McCray had a great game. She didn’t really do much in the first half and had some unfortunate traveling calls, but in the second they had no answer for her, especially when Robinson fouled out.”
“Normally I wear a sweater vest to games, but I forgot to pack my vest. So I had to borrow this tie from my trainer. I’d say I’m pretty superstitious, so we might be wearing shirts and ties for the rest of the season.”
