"In The Dugout" With Freshman Ashley Pauly

ATHENS, Ga. With the 2009 Georgia softball season now underway, fans can get to know the newest members of the Bulldog softball team with "In The Dugout" features on Georgiadogs.com.

The Georgia softball program welcomed 10 freshmen to the team this season, and the Bulldogs are off to a 3-1 on start after the first weekend of play and return to action this weekend playing host to the Second-Annual Red & Black Showcase. The second installment in this year's "In The Dugout" question and answer series is with Ashley Pauly, an infielder from Kennesaw, Ga., who is majoring in Sports Management. 

Question: Why Georgia?
Answer: I decided on Georgia because of the amazing campus and the endless opportunities it has both academically and athletically.

Q: What is your earliest sports memory?
A: My dad and I playing in the front yard with my little red, wooden bat.

Q: What, if any, pre-game superstitions or rituals do you have?
A: Alisa Goler has to put my eye black on for me.

Q: You wear number 10 because...
A: Growing up I loved Chipper Jones.

Q: Two words that describe you on the field?
A: Focused and collected.

Q: Two words that described you off the field?
A: Easygoing and funny.

Q: What celebrity would you most list to meet?
A: Ryan Sheckler.

Q: What song best describes you?
A: "All-American Girl" by Carrie Underwood.

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: The Notebook.

Q: What TV/movie character are you most like?
A: Kate Bosworth from Blue Crush.

Q: What is the best book you have ever read?
A: Dear John by Nicholas Sparks.

A: My Nana's vegetable soup.

A: Italy.
