Georgia Golfers Are Ninth at Isleworth Collegiate

WINDERMERE, Fla. --- The Georgia men’s golf team stands ninth after one round of the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational.

On Sunday, the Bulldogs fired a 16-over-par 304, 15 shots behind team leader Stanford (1-over 289).

Georgia was paced by junior Russell Henley, the 2008 Isleworth Collegiate medalist, and redshirt freshman T.J. Mitchell as they each shot a 2-over 74 to stand 16th. Stanford’s Steve Ziegler, Oklahoma State’s Peter Uihlein and Florida’s Tim McKenney are the tri-leaders at 4-under 68.

The Bulldogs also counted a 5-over 77 from freshman Brian Carter and a 7-over 79 by junior Harris English. Senior Wills Smith made his Georgia debut with a 9-over 81, which was the non-counting score.
