September 22, 2008 - Legendary University of Georgia football play-by-play announcer Larry Munson, who began broadcasting Bulldog games in 1966, announces his retirement from the booth.   University of Georgia freshman flanker A.J. Green has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman Player of the Week, according to an announcement by the league office.  Green, a 6-4, 200-pound native of Summerville, S.C., recorded career highs in both receptions (eight) and yards receiving (159) during the Bulldogs’ 27-10 road win over Arizona State on Sept. 20.  Green also scored a touchdown and tallied the first rush of his career, which went for five yards.

September 22, 2007 - Receiver Mikey Henderson caught a 25-yard touchdown pass in overtime to lift Georgia to a 26-23 victory against Alabama on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Video Clip

September 22, 1995 - The Ramsey Student Center hosted the its first ever volleyball match between UGA and Florida. The UGA volleyball team went on to finish the season 21-9 under the coaching of Jim Lams.

September 22, 1984 - All-America kicker Kevin Butler nailed a 60-yard field goal with 0:11 remaining as Georgia pulled off a stunning 26-23 upset of No. 2 Clemson in Athens.
