Bulldogs Conduct Tough Tuesday Practice
September 02, 2008 | Football
ATHENS, Ga. --- The No. 2-ranked Georgia Bulldogs got just what they needed with Tuesday afternoon's full-pads workout according to head coach Mark Richt.
"The weather helped us out," Richt said following a sweltering two-and-a-half-hour session on the Bulldogs' FieldTurf practice fields. "We needed a tough Tuesday physical practice and that's exactly what we got so we're on our way."
The Bulldogs (1-0) are preparing for Saturday's game with Central Michigan (1-0) at Sanford Stadium. Earlier on Tuesday, Richt headlined Georgia's weekly press conference to discuss the weekend's match-up.
"They have an outstanding football team," Richt said. "I don’t think you can start talking about them without starting with their quarterback (Dan) LeFevour. His statistics are really pretty staggering. If it weren’t for what Tim Tebow did last year, everyone would be talking about what LeFevour has done. He threw for 3,600 yards and ran for 1,100 yards. He is highly accurate and had 17, 18 or 19 rushing touchdowns and 30 or 40 passing touchdowns. The productivity of this guy is unbelievable. Defensively, the main thing we see with this bunch from the film from last week is that they play extremely hard and hit extremely hard when they get there."
The Bulldogs and Chippewas will square off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in a contest set to be televised by FSN South. All Georgia games are broadcast live on the Bulldog Radio Network on AM 750 WSB in Atlanta and on both 106.1 FM and 960 The Ref in Athens. The radio audio also can be heard worldwide on both georgiadogs.com, the official website of UGA Athletics, and on XM Satellite Radio.
