July 24, 1997 - The University of Georgia men's tennis and women's golf teams received the 1996-97 Faculty Athletics Representative's Award presented annually to the UGA athletic teams with the highest cumulative grade point average.

July 24, 2002 - St. Mary's Hospital in Athens is chosen to repeat as the official healthcare provider to UGA athletics.
