July 11, 2004 - Georgia junior Carly Veldman, one of the Bulldogs' top Western riders, claimed two titles at the American Paint Horse Association World Show in Fort Worth, Tex. In addition, she was awarded the prestigious All-Around Amateur Award by the APHA for her performance in several different categories.

University of Georgia student-athletes Alon Rogow (track & field) and Shea Furse (swimming & diving) were nominated for the 2026 SEC H. Boyd McWhorter Award.
