July 1, 1975 - James "Big Jim" Whatley retired after 25 seasons as Georgia's baseball coach. Whatley posted a career mark of 336-327-3 and won SEC titles in 1953 and 1954.

July 1, 2004 - Damon Evans takes over as new UGA Director of Athletics.
