Humphrey Dismissed From Georgia Basketball Team

June 27, 2008 | Men's Basketball

ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia basketball player Billy Humphrey has been dismissed from the Bulldog team, according to an announcement Friday from head coach Dennis Felton.

Humphrey, a rising senior from Dacula, played in 30 of 34 games in the 2008 season, starting in 28. He averaged 12.2 points per game, second-best among all Bulldogs, and 3.5 rebounds. His 37 percent shooting from 3-point range and 83 percent from the free-throw line were both team-best numbers.

“I am disappointed in Billy,” Felton said. “We’ve worked really hard with him in the past to see that he succeeds, but I feel that it’s now best for our program to move forward without him.”
