June 02, 2008 | Baseball

ATHENS, Ga. ---The NCAA Baseball Athens Regional Championship game Monday night at Foley Field is a sellout. The eighth-ranked Bulldogs face Georgia Tech at 7:06 p.m., and the game will be televised by CSS.

Georgia (38-22-1) forced a Monday rematch with the Yellow Jackets (41-20) after posting an 8-0 win over Georgia Tech here Sunday night. The Bulldogs fell in to the loser's bracket after Friday's opening round loss but have since battled back to win three straight to set up tonight's tilt.

The Athens Regional winner will face N.C. State beginning Friday in a three-game NCAA Super Regional. The Wolfpack swept through their regional in Raleigh Sunday. They were one of 10 teams to go 3-0 to advance. Along with the Athens Regional, there are five other regional titles to be decided Monday (Pepperdine at Stanford, Tulane at Florida State, Houston at Texas A&M, Fresno State versus San Diego in Long Beach, Calif., and UCLA at Cal State Fullerton).
