May 21, 2000 - The second-ranked Georgia Lady Bulldogs are No. 2 no longer. In a five-hour dogfight, Georgia defeated previously top-ranked Stanford 5-4 in the finals of the NCAA Tournament. Stanford had been ranked No. 1 all season and was on a 46-match winning streak going back until March 5, 1999, but the Cardinal finally met their match with the Lady Bulldogs.
