Marcus Howard Selected In Fifth Round Of NFL Draft

ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia defensive end Marcus Howard was selected in the fifth round of Sunday’s annual NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts.
Howard was named the recipient of the Miller-Digby Most Outstanding Player award in Georgia’s Jan. 1, 2008, Allstate Sugar Bowl game victory over Hawaii. He was the first defensive player to win the award since Alabama’s Barry Krauss in 1979.
Howard recorded four tackles, three sacks, two tackles-for-loss, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery for a touchdown in his final game in New Orleans.
