Kelley Hyndman

Kelley Hyndman is a senior Consumer Journalism major from Bradenton, Florida. She is a member of the UGA women’s tennis team. This year she was a nominee for the Athletic Association Lewis Leadership Award. She was recently named MVP of the SEC women’s tennis tournament. In 2007, Kelley was named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll. Kelley serves the community by visiting patients at St. Mary’s Hospital and volunteering at community youth tennis clinics. She is the recipient of the Doyle E. Mote Women’s Tennis Endowed Scholarship.

 

BIOGRAPHY

2007-08:
Hyndman has recorded 23 overall singles wins and 19 overall doubles wins in 2008 for a career total of 159 combined singles and doubles victories. She is second on team with seven singles wins over ranked opponents and has a team-best seven doubles wins over ranked opponents. She played at No. 1 singles in 20 out of 21 regular season dual matches at No. 1 doubles in all dual matches. Hyndman was 3-0 in singles matches in Georgia’s SEC Tournament title run and was named tournament MVP. She is currently ranked No. 58.

2006-07: Clinched five matches, including upsets over No. 6 Baylor and No. 12 Clemson ... Named SEC Player of the Week on Feb. 28 for her efforts in clinching those upsets ... Clinched eight doubles points overall and six with Monika Dancevic ... Member of SEC Academic Honor Roll.

2005-06: Earned Second Team All-SEC honors in helping Georgia to a 13-10 mark and #25 final team ranking...Posted an 18-12 singles record and 14-9 in doubles...Saw action at Nos. 3-6 in the singles lineup including going 1-1 at #3, 4-2 at #4, 2-0 at #5 and 7-5 at #6...Went 10-4 with Natalie Frazier including 7-4 at #3; 1-0 at #1 with Caroline Basu; 3-3 with Sara Lett at #3; 0-2 at #3 with Shadisha Robinson...ITA preseason ranked a career-best #51 in doubles with Natalie Frazier...The recipient of the 2005-06 Leighton Ballew Women’s Tennis Scholarship Endowment...Final fall record of 1-4 in singles and 4-2 in doubles with Link Leskosky

Personal: Born Sept. 22, 1985 in Plymouth, Mass...Daughter of Michael and Joan Hyndman...Has a younger sister, Yvette...Dad played professional hockey after All-American career at Boston University...Attended Billy Stearns Academy in Sarasota, Fla., and Smith Stearns Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, S.C., during junior career...Major: Undecided.
