March 28, 1981 - The Georgia women's basketball team downed Arizona State 75-73 to win the NWIT championship in Amarillo, Texas.

March 28, 2003 - Swimmer Robert Margalis won the 400-yard individual medley at the NCAA Championships to become the first male swimmer to win a national title since 1997.
