Bulldogs Take Second At Linger Longer Invitational

GREENSBORO, Ga. The No. 1 Georgia men’s golf team finished second at the Linger Longer Invitational on Sunday at Reynolds Landing.
The Bulldogs fired the lowest score of the third round, a 2-under 286, to finish at 3-under 861. Ole Miss took the team honors at 8-under 856.
Russell Henley paced the Bulldogs in the third round with a 2-under 70. Hudson Swafford signed for a 1-under 71, followed by Brian Harman at even-par 72 and Harris English at 1-over 73. Adam Mitchell had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 2-over 74. Playing as an individual, Michael Green carded a 6-over 78.
Harman finished tied for third at 3-under 213, five shots behind medalist Robbie Greenwell of Memphis. Henley came in fifth at 2-under 214, followed by English in 11th at 1-over 217, Swafford and Mitchell in 30th at 7-over 223, and Green in 51st at 13-over 229.
“I was proud of the effort by our guys,” Georgia coach Chris Haack said. “I thought we hung in there and fought until the very end. We had three guys in the top 11, and that usually means you are in the hunt.”
The Bulldogs’ next tournament will be the United States Collegiate Championship March 24-26 in Alpharetta.
