Catherine Pennington

Catherine Pennington is a senior Advertising major from Dacula, Georgia. She is a member of the UGA equestrian team. Catherine has volunteered at Fowler Drive Elementary and at the Northeast Georgia Food Bank. She
serves as one of the equestrian team representatives for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, is involved in Team United and is a member of the AD Club. She was selected to the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.

BIOGRAPHY
Born November 5, 1985 in Lithonia, Ga....the daughter of William and Elizabeth Pennington...has been riding for 10 years... 2007-07: compiled a 7-6 record in Horsemanship events, 1-1 in Reining...posted wins all four times Georgia competed against Auburn...2005-06: made eight appearances over the course of the season for UGA in the horsemanship event averaging a 71.7...tallied a 75, her best performance of the season, in season opener on Sept. 24 vs. Kentucky...2004-05: Selected to the team through tryouts conducted in August 2004...competed four times in horsemanship during the regular season and once in reining...out-pointed her Berry opponent by 13 with a 78-point score in the season opener...also had a 14.5-point margin in a scrimmage vs. Auburn...selected to the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll...Youth Superior Award winner...Versatility Award winner...two-time All-Around Georgia High Point Rider...five-time Youth World Champion...winning the Youth World Championship was her biggest sports thrill prior to arriving at Georgia...recipient of the state lottery-funded HOPE scholarship...includes Andy Roddick, macaroni & cheese, the movie Seabiscuit, Reese Witherspoon, writing and the book The Purpose Driven Life among her favorites.
