Georgia's Bryce Massanari Tabbed NCBWA Preseason All-America

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia senior catcher Bryce Massanari has been named to the 2009 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Preseason All-America Second Team, it was announced Tuesday.
A native of Las Vegas, Nev., Massanari was a first team All-SEC selection in 2008 after batting .325 with 11 home runs and 65 RBI. He had a team-high 30 two-out RBI and registered a career-best 18-game hitting streak. He was also named to the NCAA Athens Regional All-Tournament team after hitting .500 (10-for-20) with a home run and six RBI.
Massanari is one of two Bulldogs on the 2009 Brooks Wallace Player of the Year Watch List, presented annually to the nation’s top collegiate baseball player.
The defending SEC Champion Bulldogs open the 2009 season against Youngstown State on Feb. 20 at Foley Field.
