Hoop Dogs to Host Boys & Girls Club Christmas Party

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia head basketball coach Dennis Felton and his 2008-09 Bulldogs will be spreading Christmas cheer and goodwill this Saturday, Dec. 13. The second annual "Gargantuan Christmas Party," held in conjunction with the Athens Boys & Girls Club, will feature Felton’s Dogs handing out thousands of dollars worth of toys and other Christmas gifts to underprivileged children.
All of the Christmas presents have been donated by Felton himself, with addition contributions from Athens-area Wal-Mart stores, the Georgia basketball Tip-Off Club and Jim Schrull of Just Right Auto Sales.
“The Georgia Basketball family is thrilled to be spreading the Christmas spirit to so many of these beautiful young children,” Felton said. “Our players need to know how very blessed they are to be student-athletes at Georgia, and this is a way we can all give to those that aren’t so fortunate.”
Festivities begin at 12 Noon at the Bulldogs' practice gym and are scheduled to last until 2:00. Refreshments will be provided by Rita's Italian Ice and Prestige Foods of Athens.
