Lady Bulldog Tip Time Changed To 5:00
November 10, 2008 | Women's Basketball
Athens, Ga. --- The start of Saturday's basketball game between the Georgia Lady Bulldogs and Alabama State has been changed to 5:00 p.m. The alteration was finalized as to not conflict with Georgia's football game at Auburn scheduled for 12:30 that afternoon.
The first 2,500 fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a 2008-09 Lady Bulldog schedule magnet.
The Lady Bulldogs return three starters and four additional letterwinners from a 23-10 squad that reached the second round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament last spring. Georgia's roster also features six newcomers -- three scholarship and three walk-on performers.
Head coach Andy Landers opens his 30th season at Georgia just 11 wins shy of his 800th victory as a collegiate head coach. Landers, who will be inducted into the State of Georgia's Sports Hall of Fame in February, is 707-255 in 29 seasons at UGA and compiled an 82-21 record in four seasons at Roane State College.
Georgia begins the campaign with an all-time record of 744-310 in 35 seasons of intercollegiate competition in women's basketball. The Lady Bulldogs are on pace to become just the 10th Division I program to secure 750 victories.
Reserved seat tickets for Lady Bulldog Basketball games are $5 for adults and $3 for youth. UGA faculty, staff and students are admitted to Lady Bulldog games free of charge with a valid UGA ID and can claim their tickets beginning at 3:30 at Ticket Booth 4 at Stegeman Coliseum.
Tickets are available online at www.georgiadogs.com, by phone at 1-877-542-1231 or in person at the UGA Ticket Office in the Butts-Mehre Building from 8:30-4:30 this week. On Saturday, tickets will go on sale at Stegeman Coliseum Ticket Booths 1, 2 and 5 beginning at 3:30 p.m.
