January 2, 1968 - "The Little Professor" Henry Feild, Bulldog tennis's #1 player in 1964-1966, died in an automobile accident. Georgia's tennis stadium was later dedicated in his honor.

January 2, 1984 - John Lastinger's 17-yard dash with 3:22 remaining lifted Georgia to a 10-9 upset of No. 2 Texas in the Cotton Bowl. The miracle came about after the Longhorns fumbled a Bulldog punt on their own 23.
